Pool Fence Installer New Jersey and Pennsylvania
How to Maintain Beauty and Safety with Swimming Pool Fences…
A swimming pool is a major attraction to both adults and children. A pool provides water fun that is irresistible. However, a swimming pool is just as dangerous as it is fun. Most children between the ages of 1 and 4 who drown do so in swimming pools according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Laws are in place to help maintain residential and public swimming pool safety. Fences surrounding pools are a large part of safety regulations. BOCA Pool Fence Codes contain government guidelines for correct fencing for swimming pools. Many municipalities start with this code and then expand into their own safety codes. You as a homeowner are responsible that your pool complies with local safety ordinances. We are local fencing contractors who are aware of all the local codes and can advise you of the proper installation of swimming pool fences.
You have a choice of chain link, vinyl, wood, aluminum steel or wrought iron. The 3 most popular materials in a swimming pool fence are:
Aluminum
This is the most popular of swimming pool fence available because of its beauty, light weight and durability. The panels are powder coated to last forever and provide a smooth finish. Aluminum is maintenance-free.
Aluminum fencing is often mistaken for wrought iron; however, wrought iron is much heavier and more expensive than aluminum. This material is ideal for high humidity areas such as swimming pools.
Vinyl
Vinyl fence, sometimes referred to as PVC fence, is a durable plastic made of polyvinyl chloride. If you prefer more privacy in the pool area, vinyl fencing is available in solid panels as well as other patterns. It withstands the humidity of a pool area with no maintenance required.
Wood
Wood swimming pool fencing has a charm all its own. Its classic styling enhances pool décor of any type from modern to traditional. You may choose to stain or paint the fence. There are drawbacks to using wood since it is not the best material to use in high humidity areas. Maintenance will include replacing warped and rotten wood and painting, staining and weatherizing. The most common wood fence around pools is a 3 Rail or split rail with wire meshing.
All swimming pool fences are manufactured to prevent climbing. They are produced with no handholds or footholds that could enable a child to climb the fence.
Just as important as the fence is the latch that secures the gate and the hinges. Magnetic latches are lockable latches that contain strong magnets to hold the gate shut against small hands. Latches are placed at least 54 inches from the bottom of the gate out of reach of a young child. Self-closing hinges prevent the gate from standing opening with or without manually closing it. We are local fencing contractors who know the perfect latches and hinges to prevent access to your pool and that comply with regulations.
