Paver Pillars
A column or pillar in a landscape design or in architecture is a vertical element that carries the weight of the structure above to other structural elements below. Columns are commonly used to support a beam or arch where the upper parts of a wall or ceiling sits. A column in architecture or landscape design refers to a structural element that is proportional and has decorative features. A column may also be designed as a decorative piece not needed for structural reasons. Many columns are used in or as part of a wall.
When designing our landscapes we like to use columns as a decorative element. We use them in entry ways or to highlight the end of a wall. The common products we use to build a column are pavers, brick and natural stone.
